Here’s what Sir Branno Tweeted about FBi Radio:
“Sign up and save Sydney FBi! http://tinyurl.com/nykegw”
And here’s what he blogged:
“I’ve been amazed by the effort FBi’s supporters have gone to. The station clearly inspires great passion from its listeners and it’s worth saving. I’ll do my bit by providing some prizes, but really it’s up to FBi’s listeners to show they want the station to survive. So I say ‘Sign up and Save FBi!’ All you have to do is and pledge from $4 a month to go towards ongoing operational costs of the community station. I’ve signed up and pledged so it’s over to you…”

Hello! It’s a lovely thing to find an upside to a downturn. As such, FBi is made to feel all warm inside by the constant flow of supportive notes from friends of the station, like all these ones we’ve reprinted below. It means a lot to us to hear that we mean a lot to you. With your help, we’ll stay on air.
Take it away, Nick!

NICK CAVE
“FBi, one of Sydney’s only independent stations, a station that champions local music, arts and culture is crucial to the cultural fabric of the city. It must be saved.”
After the jump: Chris Taylor, Rusty Hopkinson, Luke Davies, Rose Byrne and so many more! Like a set of steak knives!

Did you hear? Ask Richard’s world-beating news has gone global! Reports of FBi’s own Alison Piotrowksi putting the hard word on noted space-travel enthusiast and Earth’s 236th richest person, Richard Branson, at 8am this morning live-to-air, have set the web on fire. Fire! Possibly hot on the heels of news.com.au’s reportage of ‘a “soaking wet” young Mystery Woman (TM) on his Caribbean island who grabbed Sir Richard’s attention,’ the UK’s Telegraph has also run with the story. It is also reported here! And here! And here! AND HERE (Hello, Reuters!) Wonderful news, everyone!
So no, the one million clams were not forthcoming, however, we are brimming with ideas on that front and more to the point, thrilled with Sir Richard’s generous donations to the FBi supporter drive: TWO return flights to LAX and two return flights to London with tickets to V Festival in the UK in August! Have you seen who is playing there? Don’t you want to be there, right now? Well, come August you can (possibly!), simply by becoming an FBi Supporter and going into the draw. Do it now! AT ONCE. Who doesn’t want to kick it on the Sunset Strip at the Whisky A Go Go? NOBODY! Call immediatley: 1300 FBi 945 (1300 324 945) or follow this link to FBi Radio to pledge over the intertubes. Richard Branson’s a supporter, so clearly that is where the path to enormous personal wealth and your own spaceport lies!
- Watch the webcast of Alison securing Sir Richard’s support.
- And soon: Who Else Should We Hit Up For Money?
love,
FBi.

Here’s the chance you’ve all been waiting for… time to throw yourself out of a plane for FBi.
Thanks to Sky Dive The Beach Sydney, we’re looking for four people willing to throw themselves out of a plane this Friday, all in the name of Ask Richard.
There’s only three conditions.
1. You need to be free this Friday and be able to meet on George St at 7am or get yourself to North Wollongong (train or car) by 8am.
2. You need to pass these health guidelines
3. You need to convince us why you should be on the plane. Do you have a Branno disguise, an astronaut’s suit or a bikini you’ve always wanted to wear falling to earth? Leave a comment here or twitter us @askrichard on how you’ll make a splash if you’re on that plane. Hurry, you’ve got 24 hours to let us know!
